Trends in Philanthropy: What Giving USA 2021 can tell us about philanthropy's present and future

This webinar will use top findings from the latest release of Giving USA 2021: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for 2020 to explore the current landscape for philanthropy. Anna Pruitt, a lead researcher on Giving USA, reveals the forces that drive charitable giving and identifies key takeaways to help inform your organization's strategy.

Anna Pruitt, Ph.D.

Managing Editor – Giving USA

Lilly Family School of Philanthropy

Anna Pruitt is the Managing Editor of Giving USA: The Annual Report on Philanthropy, the longest-running annual report on charitable giving in the United States. Giving USA provides numeric estimates and analysis of the major trends in philanthropy from the previous year. Anna also works on The Philanthropy Outlook, a report that projects charitable giving for two years and explains how economic variables impact those projections. Thanks to her work on these reports, Anna has a special perspective on the most pressing topics for donors, fundraisers, and nonprofit leaders right now, as well as the concerns on the horizon. Anna joined the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in March 2017 after serving as an Assistant Research Professor in the School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. Anna earned a Ph.D. in English from University of California, Davis, and has dedicated her career to translating complex research into insights that practitioners can put into action.
